Summer art exchange! All are welcome!

Now that we've got just under 700 members, me and the other admins decided it's time to do another art exchange!
Some of you may remember the one we did for Halloween last year, which was a great success but not very many people joined in.

- What is an art exchange? Basically a massive art trade based on a 'secret Santa' system. You sign up, and when we have enough participants we randomly match everyone up. You will draw one piece of art for someone (we'll tell you who) and someone will draw one piece of art for you! the fun is that you have no idea who is drawing for you, so it's a surprise when that person uploads it! :)

This time, the theme is SUMMER. Anything summery you can think of, including the person's character. Be creative!

The only rule is that you must draw something, and it can't just be a quick sketch on paper. Draw for your person something as good as you'd like to receive, and we'll do fine.

All of the admins will hopefully be participating.

DEADLINE FOR ALL ARTWORK WILL BE THE END OF JULY! So you've all got plenty of time, I know we're currently knee deep in exam season now XD

To join:
- Write a comment on this journal saying that you'd like to join in, with a link to a ref of ONE canine character. I or one of the other admins will reply to tell you that we've added you to the list.
- You have until the 28th May to sign up! You also can't drop out after that date!

Hopefully we'll have lots of members joining in, make sure you tell your friends about it too!

  • Hurricane : nice, happy, energetic and brave. Female wolf, she always wears her scarf.

Rules on submissions and what will be accepted can all be found here, please have a look to avoid your art being declined (and irritated admins XD).

:star:What Do We Accept?:star:
- We accept all wolf species and wolf related species like the Malamute and Siberian Husky. Anthro/ werewolf art is not accepted as these are more based off a human form, not an animal form.
- Original art only! No coloured bases, copies, traces or altered pieces regardless of whether you have permission.
- We will not accept work on lined paper or WIPS (Work-In-Progress) because it makes the folders look a little messy. We want everything clean and finished please.
- You don't have to be super popular or super talented, we accept work of all skill levels as long as you have put the time and effort into your work - we won't accept work that is your "5 minute sketch done in class" because it clearly shows you haven't put much thought into it.
- No adoptables please. They are made from line arts so are not classed as original artwork. If you do have wolf adoptables then you can go to this group instead: :icongoldblossom-adopts:


:star:Submission Rules:star:
- Make sure you submit your work to the right folders! If you're ever confused or not sure which folder your work belongs in then just leave a comment or note the group for help, we won't bark at you for asking.
- The Featured Folder is off limits to members but all other folders are 100% free access meaning no limits on how much you can submit to each one!
- Featured Folder will be picked out by *DansuDragon based on effort/ skill level/ presentation/ originality at random.
- Submit only your own art! No copied/ traced or stolen work, if we find out you have done any of these then the original artist will be notified of the thievery and you will be permanently removed from the group.
-If your work is declined then we will always explain why.


Other than that, have fun, be polite and enjoy all the wonderful artwork!

Hi, may I please submit this piece into the traditional folder as it was done on paper with copics and colored pencils? [link] it was denied last time and told to be out into digital but the only digital thing on it is the watermark.
